Discussing Matthew
An invitation to join Brad Jersak, Chris Green, Julie Canlis, Brian Zahnd, Cherith Nordling, John Behr, Paul Young, John MacMurray, and me on a journey to a deeper encounter with the human God.
We are doing something a bit different with our next discussion. Like the John, Revelation, and Hebrews discussions before, we are covering the entire Gospel of Matthew, but our focus is the life of the human God among us in time.
So we are highlighting moments throughout Matthew’s gospel that show how we are (right now) participants in the life of the person who does divine things humanly and human things divinely.
The voices in this discussion are dear friends but also bearers of wisdom that comes from their own personal encounters with Jesus Christ. What blesses me most about each of them is how Jesus is made known to me in my experience of them.
Brad Jersak. Chris Green. Julie Canlis. Brian Zahnd. John Behr. Cherith Nordling. John McMurray. Paul Young.
They are excellent readers of texts, and reading with them helps me read the Scriptures wisely, but the gift they each bear to me is their own relation to the person that these texts are made to reveal.
I hope you will join us. You can participate in the discussion live or listen to the conversations later at your convenience and pace.
The discussion takes place during 50 hours spread out over six months. I promise that the time will be well spent and will be time spent with the eternal. Over four years we have simply asked for a donation of $99 … about $4 a session. It’s a bargain. But if you need help with that, let me know.
We start in two weeks. You can register here.
Ugh...Matthew is my least favorite gospel which is why I probably need to do this. 😂
Kenneth, I am signed up under sandy.brinks@comcast.net as of yesterday.
